I grew up in Clackamas County Oregon and attended Canby public schools. I graduated cum laude with a degree in history from Oregon State University in 2001. After taking a year off, I attended the University of Oregon School of Law and graduated in 2005.

Prior to starting my law practice I clerked for the Honorable Ronald D. Thom of the Clackamas County Circuit Court. Working for Judge Thom allowed me to gain experience in a multitude of different legal matters including the areas of criminal law, family law, civil litigation, business disputes, and real property. Additionally, clerking for Judge Thom prepared me for the challenges of practicing at the trial court level.
